Caroline designs and produces fine bone chinaware from her studio in South East London. After graduating from Central St Martin's College in 2000, she experimented with lighting and combining ceramic with metal until she fell in love with bone china about two years ago. Although it is an expensive material that can be difficult to cast, problematic to fire and absolutely hellish to glaze, Caroline has stuck doggedly to her mission. Quite simply, because it is beautiful. Bone china is exquisitely refined and possesses a translucent property that is quite breathtaking. |
